Bentley University: Management of Innovation
Last Monday, Framingham Nissan was invited to speak to Professor Flynn's Management of Innovation class at Bentley University. When we received the invitation we were thrilled about the chance to talk about the new automotive industry and the new innovations that are emerging in this industry. The Principal Owner of Framingham Nissan, Joe Shaker, our Acquisition and Disposition Rockstar, Desiree Ouellette and our Director of Internet Marketing, Alex Gilmore, all spoke about the changes in the automotive industry and what new innovations are being created.

We would like to thank Professor Flynn for giving us the opportunity to speak to her class and we would also like to thank all the Bentley Students involved in the Management of Innovations class for having a great conversation with us!

Driving: A Stressful Situation
We all have experienced it. You are going to or coming from work, running a couple minutes late and everything is going well until you hit the dreaded traffic jam. You wait and wait in the traffic jam constantly asking yourself, "why does this always seem to happen to me," while continuously turning up AC/DC on your radio. Here is a list of things that may help you next time you get stuck in one of these unfortunate situations:
1. Give yourself plenty of time when you are driving. This seems pretty easy but we all procrastinate. We hit the snooze alarm three times before we get ready for work or we get caught up in a conversation at work which makes us leave late. The moral of the story is plan your time wisely, no one likes feeling rushed and without planning your time you are bound to get stuck in traffic.
2. Keep current with accidents and traffic jams. We all have access to the internet. Whether it is on our phone or on a computer, we can look up the current traffic flow and accidents simply by going online. This allows you to stay ahead of the game.
3. Have some sort of navigation system in your car. With GPS technology there is no need to get flustered about getting lost or sitting in traffic. Simply select the "avoid traffic" or "avoid highways" button on your GPS and then you will be able to take back-roads to get home or to your place of work. Sure it may take a little longer than usual but you will most likely be constantly moving which will eliminate some of the stress.
4. Don't let other drivers get under your skin. I know this is easier said than done but when another driver cuts you off don't let it get to you. Try to remain calm cool and collected and your experience will be a lot more pleasant.
5. Listen to music. Now i mentioned earlier about cranking AC/DC which is sometimes a great thing to do in your car but in this situation go for the more calming music. Some people listen to classical music while I tend to listen to such artists as Jack Johnson. Find what type of music calms you and then listen to that in these stressful times.

What Mood are You In?
Have you ever been in such a bad or good mood that you wanted your music to reflect it? Well look no further than the Gracenote MoodGrid. This technology, which is already an Android Tablet App, allows you to create a music playlist on a grid and select what kind of mood you are in. There is a different mood on each axis, Positive, Energetic, Calm and Dark. When you touch a point on the graph that is created by these four moods, Gracenote MoodGrid automatically creates a playlist to your specification. The songs are pulled from your music player, or subscription service like Spotify.
The great thing about the Gracenote MoodGrid is that it has been scaled down and implemented with Garmin which means it could be used in vehicles, such as a Nissan, this year!
What mood do you think you would mostly use with the Gracenote MoodGrid while driving?Leave your answer below in our comments section!

Winless Celtics look to Rebound Tonight
With an 0-3 record, the Boston Celtics are looking to rebound against the Detroit Pistons tonight at the TD Bank North Garden. Both teams are looking for their first win tonight and Boston is looking to avoid their worst start in 42 years. With Pierce still questionable for tonight's game, Boston will have to improve their defense greatly and minimize the amount of turnovers they give up (an NBA League leading 18.7 turnovers per game).
Key Matchup: Rodney Stuckey vs. Rajon Rondo
While Rondo seems to have the upper-hand on Stuckey both offensively and defensively; If Rondo continues to commit turnovers Stuckey could have the last laugh.
Be sure to check back at our Framingham Nissan Blog for pictures of tonight's game!
